RACIST BRANCH! INCOMPETENT SERVICE! Went to Westfield Miranda HSBC branch today to open an everyday savings account. Was met by a customer service rep named Jackie. Gave them my passport, drivers license and everything else needed to open an account and also answered usual questions. Only to hear from Jackie soon after they cant open an account for me on the reason of my birth country unless it overridden by her manager. Few minutes later an accounts manager Cindy Lu came to me to explain they need more details from me based on the country of birth. When I asked if it is a usual procedure with everyone wanting to open an account, I was told its their internal policy for people born in the same country. When I asked if I could see this written somewhere as I couldnt simply believe it - was told they cant show it to me as its only for their staff. Later the branch manager named Alex came as well to say my account cannot be opened at all and nothing I can do about it. I found Jackie, Cindy Lu and Alex very incompetent in their service, unprofessional, ignorant, with no listening skills when I was providing them with an explanation to every their single question and more importantly SUPER DUPER RACIST!!! Wasted 1.5 hour there. Note to the bank: I will not stop with this review only. This unprofessional behaviour and your supposed to be internal policies will be reported to every single authority that I can find. My deepest apologies for not able to change my country of birth.
