Formerly known as Australian Mutual Fire Insurance Society head office, it's now Country Road store in the corner of Pitt Street Mall and King Street. This four storey sandstone masonry building sits right in the corner of Pitt Street and King Street with spectacular corner faades and timber framed bay windows. A beautiful example of Victorian Free Classical style. Designated as a Heritage listed building in 1999. Described as beautifully crafted of monumental scales with classical temple references. Grahame Books occupied this place in the 70s as a book publisher as well as a retail store. Utterly impressive and a gorgeous heritage listed building contributing to the amazing history of this city of Sydney. Suitable for all ages and backgrounds to admire and explore.
