        image It was constructed in the Victorian Free Classical style in 1887 with Italianate motifs. It has been operational for more than a century. It's considered to be the only fire station constructed in the Victorian Free Classical style. It's heavily modified inside but the exterior still largely unchanged. The original 1887 building was extended in 1912. If you walk past here, have a look at the carved keystones, the terrazzo flooring and detailed frieze. A great significance for the history of fire brigade in this city. Worth a look if you walk past this area.
