Dr Todd Gothelf - Orthopaedic Surgeon

I came to Dr Gothelf with discomfort in my foot after two injuries.....he proposed an arthoroscopy and removal of hardware in my foot....thank heavens I didnt go down that path....another surgeon in the same rooms who I was recommended to sent me for a detailed ultrasound, then choofed me off to a brilliant podiatric muscular skeletal practitioner who fitted me with orthotics and 18 months on....my foot feels like new...I am so so glad I didnt follow his advice

Dr Gothelf operated on my shoulder that had been giving me pain for years. Unlike other surgeons that I had seen he didn't rush into suggesting surgery, rather he had me try non-surgical options first. Only when that didn't work did he suggest surgery. He patiently explained the surgery and all the possible outcomes without sugar-coating it at all. In the end the result was way better than I had hoped for and the recovery period much lesser than I'd expected. I absolutely recommend Dr Gothelf to anyone as I found him to be an excellent surgeon and an engaging and concerned physician.

Dr Gothelf was particularly supportive for my 10 year old daughter who suffered repeated shoulder dis-locations. We were referred to Dr Gothelf who approached my daughter's case with compassion, support and deep medical knowledge. He initially focused on ensuring her pain was minimised, then recommending isolation followed by physio treatment. Importantly he was reluctant to consider surgery as she is too young. Over the several months of consultation, he was cautious, considered and always supportive.

I have visited Orthosports Randwick several times over the last 4 months to see Dr Gothelf about my left ankle reconstruction. Every time I visit (from the pre-surgery appointments to the post-surgery check ups) I always receive a friendly welcome from the lovely and helpful staff, and excellent treatment from Dr Gothelf himself. I'm sorry to see from the other review that someone has had an undesirable experience, but I can assure that as well as my own positive experience, every time I'm there I see other contented looking patients that appear to have great relationships with their doctors.

Many years ago I had very good experiences at Orthosports from Dr Craig Waller but I believe he no longer works there. Craig, if you read this, many thanks for your work and my knees are still going strong.
