Anyone relocating their pets to Australia will admit; standards are high, protocols demanding, and it can be an incredibly stressful process! Quarantine can be a daunting prospect! We're trusting strangers to care for not just our "pets" but the most vulnerable members of our family. I was really impressed by Mickleham quarantine. Our Ella (Jack Russell) was rather sensitive during this transition. Her handler expressed genuine care, and did not waste any time to address her melancholic disposition. We were promptly informed, and really appreciated being included in the discussion of how to approach her needs. Then, to be given faithful follow up on her improvement and revived appetite, gave us such relief. A special thank you to Ella's handler for going the extra mile with the TLC she needed. We were delighted to hear our Didi (Maltese) was being her charming, sociable-butterfly self. That it was reported she was getting lots of cuddles, comforted us. We also had a chuckle when we heard Didi gave her handler a sneaky kiss. A very good sign! We finally got the go-ahead, and collected our girls today. It was a happy, happy reunion I'm grateful that the staff at Mickleham quarantine are genuine animal lovers. It makes all the difference to know, that as gruelling as protocols may be... our animals are taken care of by individuals truly invested in their wellbeing. We truly want to say thank you to PQ staff for looking after our woof babies; not only providing their basic needs, but also being attentive and sensitive to their emotional states. Empathy for animals going through things they don't quite understand, is really important to the hooman pack members. Again, many thanks

My dog came out with a cut under her eye, on her nose and a scratch on her cheek which turned into hot spot (septic infection) which has ment half her face has been shaved and she's now on antibiotics. The centre also would not provide any photos of her during her stay despite me emailing to ask after seeing other reviews stating they do. But why other choice do we have!??

These recent reviews are extremely concerning. What is department doing to improve their services? Would pet parents be able to see their pet virtually during the quarantine period? Will there be any 24 hours vet on standby? There is no patrol during night like hospital?

It has been a very rough experience for us been so long apart from our little fur baby. But we must thank everyone took care and looked after Charlie the time he was in Quarantine. He looked clean and healthy when we picked him up today and he is right away back to normal. Thank you heaps

They should be ashamed of themselves inflicting this stress, pain and and worry on people!!! 10 days quarantine was bad enough let alone 30DAYS!! What good will this do? Only inflict irreversible trauma on these poor animals being separated from their family. This is completely inhumane and its the animals that will suffer more than anyone else. These people, This government dont care that these animals are like peoples children. Its all money for them, they couldnt care less. Its just so wrong and downright disgusting. Shame on you all. Also.... with the amount of money this place is getting, there should be someone on site every second of every day and the animals should receive 24/7 care!!! Why is there so many reports of animals coming out bruised, underweight and dirty??? This is completely unacceptable and there will be further investigation into this neglect and abuse!!!!! Absolutely horrific.
