Level Crossing Removal Project

As someone who has been a community member in the Stakeholder Group, it has opened my eyes to what really goes on at these projects. Lack in consultation with the community - they only consult when it's a large-scale project, yet when it is one where they close a road and replace with a pedestrian crossing, the consultation is not there. I applaud them on the grand projects they have made, but criticise them on their appauling handling of their projects and treatment of the community and small businesses.

550+ mature trees, many over 100 years old, removed in Surrey Hills and Mont Albert. Mont Albert station destroyed and not replaced. Surrey Hills station moved from the commercial area and will be built in the only local park. Also metres away from residential homes. Do it properly or dont do it at all.

Updated 11/05/2022 They can only go worse not better. It has been two years that they have not finished the work. Now they want to block the road without relocation offer. People live near station requires to stay at home because of their work???!!! And also tell us that we cannot park near the house?! Any genius knows where to complaint on this? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Workers stand on the road for chatting all days and then you need to do night work for completing the project . The noise causes residents cannot sleep in the night ! No compensation, I even had to pay out of packet for internet use when I got relocated . The most dangerous level crossing Victoria ? I lived here for 5 years where I havent seen an accident . Good way to make money ! VIC government.
