Victorian Small Business Commission

The VSBC, namely Jeff Morello helped me immensely as I had a stubborn franchisor who would not reply to any of my communication for months when I wanted to legally terminate my franchise agreement. Jeff got the franchisor to communicate with me and come to a quick resolution that allowed me to terminate my agreement with no issue. Thanks to Jeff and the VSBC for handling a situation that could have dragged on for another year and cost me tens of thousands in unlawful franchise fees.

Wow !!! just reading the reviews on this site there is a serious issue in that Organisation, having said that the lady that I spoke with was extremely helpful so it must come down to the luck of the draw.

I cant express enough how disappointed I am with the Small business commission. They dont support small business. We have been financially crippled by Covid lockdowns and have a landlord that doesnt want to help. The landlords lawyer scared them off the small business commission rep from running a mediation. They have no backbone and dont support small business

Recently reached out to the Flood Emergency Hotline, only to discover that the VSBC was running the program. The call center operator (Kylie) was "prickly" and quite difficult to deal with. Evidently she was unable to separate her own emotions from the service she was providing. She was aggressive at times, frequently condescending, dismissive and generally unhelpful. When I politely challenged her on the information she was providing, she angrily blurted "I work for the VBC so I know how the Retail Tenancies Act works". When I pointed out to her that we were talking about a residential tenancy under the RTA1997, she got very upset and put the call on hold for over 6 mins. When she returned she acted like a petulant child who had been told no for the first time. She hung up on me to end the conversation and she had not answered any of the questions I posed.
