My wife and I purchased a fixed-price "turn key" house and land package from Blag Homes in late 2020, and moved in September 2021. Being our first home, we were very concerned with the horror stories that everyone has heard about in the building industry, mainly regarding people being taken advantage of by the big volume builders - however we were extremely pleased with Blag Homes in every aspect of our build process, and struggled to fault them at all. Everyone from the Blag Homes team were knowledgable, genuine, and supportive of us, and their team were available at any time to assist; from answering any questions we had about progress, alleviating our concerns about supply shortages, through to catering for variations that we decided upon at the last minute. For our own peace of mind, we engaged with a highly reputable third-party independent building inspector to assess progress and search for faults during each stage of build completion. There were some very minor issues that came up in our inspection reports (as all new build projects would have), however the on-site team were extremely accommodating to have these resolved prior to the next stage of completion, and would even liaise directly with our contracted inspector to ensure that we were getting a great result for our money. After moving into the house after completion, there were a small handful of minor issues (mainly cosmetic in nature) that were discovered, of which the Blag Homes team were happy to resolve for us in the first instance of attending the home - without any issues or fuss, and with a quick turnaround. Our friends and family (and even our building inspector) have all commented on the high quality finish that has been put in place by the Blag Homes team, which we have been told is comparable to higher end "boutique" builders (for which you will be paying 2x to 3x the cost to achieve). We are extremely happy with our end result - being a home that was conpleted to our requirements that we will be enjoying for many years to come. I would highly recommend Blag Homes to anyone looking to either build a new home or renovate an existing one - you'll be very hard pressed to find better value, quality, or service in SA!
