worst customer service ever. Had to wait for 1 hour just for verification of id, understaffed

I am stranded in Uruguay. My credit and debit cards have been locked since I left Australia. I have no telephone access from here and there is no way other than that to contact the bank I asked a friend to go to the branch and explain the situation. Using her phone I pleaded with them for help but they refused, even refusing to pass my problem on to any other department. I have had personal and business accounts with this branch for decades and they have locked my accounts every time I've been overseas. it won't happen again because if I manage to get back to Australia I will be changing my bank.

Staff do their best but they are way understaffed. Opening hours are very restrictive; its not 1930 any more. The company cares more for shareholder profit than for their customers.

Very dispiriting customer service, It seems that the staff here thinks we're begging them, Or take something out of their pockets hey, it's our money.
