Adelaide Central Market Tour

This tour is expensive + was underwhelming. Booking for a solo traveller could not be done online (not sure why) and it took 5+ attempts before I received confirmation. The tour was $89 and you dont get much for that. By comparison South Melbourne market charge $35 + includes a jute bag, a tea towel and we had an oyster, prawn, French cheese, pastries, nuts + fruit. Sadly, this tour needs to lift its game.

The guide gave us interesting insights into the history of the market and the various stalls. We also got some samples that we wouldn't necessarily have tasted otherwise. Everything was done really lovingly. The market is relatively calm in the morning. It gets a little busier later. Wir waren an diesem Tag nur zwei Paare, die an der Tour teilgenommen haben, sodass wir eine sehr familire Atmosphre hatten. Der Guide hat uns interessante Einblicke in die Geschichte des Marktes und der verschiedenen Stnde gegeben. Auerdem haben wir einige Kostproben erhalten, die wir sonst nicht unbedingt probiert htten. Das ganze wurde wirklich liebevoll durchgefhrt. Morgens ist der Markt noch relativ ruhig. Spter wird es etwas wuseliger. Bei einer greren Gruppe knnten wir uns vorstellen, dass man dann nicht mehr alle Informationen des Guides ohne Probleme mitbekommt.

Incredible tour! Really unique way to learn about the history of the traders and sample their food. Very glad we did the tour first and then explored on our own rather than the other way around. One of the highlights of our trip

I enjoyed visiting the Adelaide central market recently and had a very informative tour leader. All the produce was fresh with a huge variety of everything including meats, seafood, wine and cheese plus so much more. I would do my shopping there but car parking is the biggest problem. The costs are too high and one needs a car to shop especially when you arent living close by. Because of that reason its not practical to shop at the market unfortunately.
