Dear Professor Amal, I am sending you this photo of yourself and Mum. You can see the emotion in Mums face. She holds a special place in her heart for you for what you did for her. Thank-you from Brad and myself for your absolute care of Mum. After meeting you that first night we knew that Mum was in the perfect hands. We are forever grateful to you. Words of thanks will never be enough. You are an angel. Thank-you from the bottom of our hearts for saving our Mum. Jane-Marie and Brad Pfeiffer

A/Prof Abou-Hamden is an absolutely amazing Neurosurgeon and woman. I highly recommend her. Dedicated, very passionate and nurturing. Every level of advice was given to me to help make a decision including all the positives and negatives. Amal is an amazing listener and responds from all different views and the pros and cons. Communication with you personally via Melina, and to your Neurologist, keeping everyone up to date. My day of surgery was great. I have been looking forward to the Temporal Lobectomy for the uncontrolled epilepsy and counting down the days. It was great walking into the surgery room and seeing Prof. Abou- Hamden, who came straight up and having a good talk about it all. I was in recovery for six days and every day, including weekends Prof. came to see how I was and my level of recovery drugs and asking how I am. Post surgery appointment, 4 weeks after surgery was good. Prof was incredibly happy I have had no seizures since surgery and explained the scar tissue that was cut out and analysed and what the results were. Amal brought up many subjects to talk about that I wouldn't have thought of. Even though Amal is incredibly busy and dedicated, she may be running behind in appointments. This needs to be understood. The best part is that you aren't rushed. There's no rush as you are a person and not just an 'in and out' patient. I am a very lucky woman and feel that A/Prof Amal Abou-Hamden had saved my life. Truly has. Amazing woman indeed! Thank you Amal.
