This gentleman is extraordinary. He diagnosed my mother almost immediately with a rare condition that she suffered severe symptoms from for almost 12 months. On her first visit to him (after many Drs / treater appts) she was diagnosed with Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA). His initial treatment addressed her symptoms immediately, and although it was a rough ride (side effects of treatment) we had a clear treatment plan. He was available when we needed him, supportive and good at explaining what was going on and what was needed. We are now 3 months on and the illness has almost resolved and my mother is well on her way to recovery. Dr Bartley saved my mothers life - we can't thank him enough.

I came under Dr Bartley's care after being flown from Hervey Bay with cronic back pain and extremely elevated CRP levels; I was in a bad way. From the outset Dr Bartley took control and despite the urgency of my situation I felt in good hands. I was under Dr Bartley's care plan at the Wesley for 7 weeks where he visited me daily to manage my treatment and progress. Throughout my experience, he was assuring, confident and extremely thoughtful and his professional decision-making was flawless. At all times he asked myself and my wife if we had any questions or concerns, and when we did he treated them diligently, taking the time to make sure we understood his response. On his daily rounds he was very well informed about my overnight progress and a few minutes with me were spent quietly observing me followed by some well pointed questions. I also observed how well he was held in high regard by the other health care professionals including the nursing staff. I have no hesitation in promoting Dr Bartley as a person of high calibre and a great skill base and felt very fortunate that he took on my care.
