Rooms: Just beautiful, bed so so comfortable, big fridge, and that bathroom. My only disappointment in myself was not purchasing the bathroom shampoo and lotions from the reception, do yourself a favour. Safety: Very secure and safe Walkability: Close to walk to everything Cairns can show you Food & drinks: Room service was great, fast and served hot and very fresh

We stayed 5 nights.m with the Bailey Experience. Great location, easy walk to everything. Rooms are very nice however (like most in Cairns that we have stayed) can have mould smell. Carpet was damp when we arrived which cleared once the air-conditioning turned on. Problem is that they turn the ac off when noone in the rooms and the rooms around have it turned on it causes it to sweat. No point complaining as most hotels in humid locations like this. The included breakfast is not full buffet as described on check in. It is simply limited continental with some hot options. The hot options are dry from being under warmer too long. Majority of guests were complaining at breakfast each morning for the lack of options. We were told by staff as were othwr guests that as itis cheaper so they don't offer much. Milk for cereal was warm. Toaster burns no matter what. Coffee terrible blend. Breakfast is only from 7am. This conflicts with most day tour puck up times which is strange to have breakfast start so late, especially in a tourist town. We were not able to have breakfast one morning because of this. Night shift staff offered a credit to our account (we didn't ask, they offered when hearing we were being pick-up up prior). Morning breakfast staff offered to open slightly earlier but would only have toast and cereal (very minimal options). When queried we were told they would look into it but noone called us when in our room nor left message on ipad. When queried upon checkout it was fobbed off and had to push foe them to look into. I've since received an email stating no credit, was not promised and if return will offer free drink. I understand it was included in the price however it was a higher price obviously than non breakfast option and I didn't ask for a credit, it was offered. Frustrating to then reneg on it. Included Green Island day trip was great. The Pool shown in most of website photos is not the pool for hotel guests. There is a separate one for residence building. The guest pool is tiny and freezing in May as does not get much sun. It is also on level 3 and very windy so not very enjoyable this time of year. Staff were not great with communication and would not get back to you on matters when they said they would. An older couple were having issues with overflowing toilet when we were in reception and they were told to go back upstairs and take photos for the staff to look at. Shocking, if that was me, with a potential bio hazard I would be going straight up there myself to see what the issue is and arrange a new room. We still had a great time in Cairns but would not stay at the Bailey again. Walkability: Easy walking to all of CBD, marina, casino, night markets, shopping centre, cafes, restaurants.
