Formerly known as Colonial Secretary's Building, this stupendous building is inside a very prominent position with its address in Macquarie Street, Phillip Street and 47 Bridge Street and considered to be of great significance; historical, social, aesthetic and scientific importance. Even if you just walk past here, one would appreciate the enormity of this gorgeous building. If you check out the corner faade you'll be able to observe three distinct sculptures of Wisdom, Science and Justice and they speak volumes of the values this beautiful building projects. If you have a chance to see the interior, the ornate staircases and marble tiled floors are breathtaking! This lavish and imposing building is classed as both Victorian Free Classical and Victorian Second Empire style. Right across from the Royal Botanic Gardens so worth exploring both sites for rich history. Also worth noting is the NSW Badge and Crown (in waratah wreath) perched on the entrance doorway faade on the Bridge Street side, as its also Heritage listed. A must explore stupendous building.
