Rooms are dated but parts of the hotel are undergoing renovations so, hopefully, in time to come, all rooms will be lovely. The shower in the bath situation is not ideal. Water bypasses the screen onto the floor. Noises come from the plumbing, in general, throughout the day and night. Breakfast is offered but at $33 per person, it's a bit pricey. I don't think we would stay here again. There are several other options in Newcastle. Rooms: Basic and in need of updating. More clothes hangers would be great - there were only 4 in our cupboard. We asked for more and they were provided. We have a kettle, microwave & 2 irons but no toaster. Crockery is provided for 3 people. The small fridge is not very cold.

Average overall. Rooms are very dated but functional and clean. The staff is what amazed us, they were so lovely and helpful. If I would ask for one thing to be changed (apart from an update that is desperately needed) please get bigger bathroom towels! The ones we had would be great for our 7 year old but wouldn't fit an adult, awkward and crunchy towels.

First time staying here since the change over from Travelodge to Accor Hotels/Mercure. The staff are better now. Rooms will probably be updated in due course, still felt like the Travelodge in that regard. Location is very good. Short walk to light rail station. Would stay here again.
