The cafe does not accept cash. I've come in here for 21 days and as we are told not to bring any valuables I only bought $50 with me and left my wallet at home. Today I went to get a coffee and they said card only. There is nowhere safe to keep a credit card in this hospital as none of the draws lock so I can't use the cafe at all. Reply: the bedside table does have a lockable draw and when I asked for the key on admission the nursing staff told me they don't have keys for the draws and that they never have, so it's useless.

What an amazing hospital! A close relative of mine recently discharged after a 21 day stay. On each visit I observed the professionalism and caring approach from all staff. From start to finish and everything in between I can not fault this hospital. The Management and Clinical team were outstanding. As a new facility the team and Management continually sought feedback from myself as a visitor and my relative to ensure a five star experience. I would recommend Matilda Nepean to anyone requiring a mental health admission.

I have just completed a 21 day inpatient stay here, most of the facilities are wonderful, being brand new. Unfortunately there are some architectural design faults that make some facilities inaccessible. Most of the staff were always kind, compassionate & had time to listen, offer advice & whatever help they could. A special shout out to nurses Michael, Nicki, Kylie, James, Eden, boss lady Trish, psychologists Lexi & Dany (you two are incredible, thank you for everything), Dr Singh (a genuinely good person and Psychiatrist), and the AMAZING reception team who always go above and beyond. Unfortunately, like any workplace, there were some bad eggs with poor attitudes, no bedside manner, and a nasty streak that really makes me question why theyre working in a private mental health facility. Lack of communication was also a huge issue, due to the teething problems of being such a new hospital. Doctors wouldnt communicate to staff, staff wouldnt communicate changes to patients, etc. Many times patients would need to remind staff what medication they were taking & the doses (even though it was clearly written on our charts.) And sadly, for all the good I experienced, I cannot get past the blatant misogyny that is rife throughout. Two men during my stay were violent, physically threatened myself & others, manipulated & abused multiple women and yet these men received no warnings, no talk of discharge or transfer to another facility. In fact, after the first man left, he was somehow allowed to re-enter the Hospital the very next day under the false pretence of visiting. All the while this man was still stalking & harassing another patient, making sexual comments about the women staying there, and once again physically threatening me. So dear Matilda, you are doing so much right & I sincerely thank you for helping me in my time of need, but I also plead with you to do better & learn from your mistakes.

After 30 days in Matilda, my mother was able to return home instead of going to a nursing home and we were amazed by that result. The staff and facilities are second to none - nothing was a ever a problem and everyone made her feel like royalty. They really do care. She even loved the food. I cannot thank everyone involved in her rehabilitation enough - I would definitely recommend the Matilda facility to anyone.
