Professor Harvey clearly has a scientific interest in his patients' health and is not just applying standard tick and flick treatment. I have regained my sense of smell and taste and put behind me the fatigue of allergy and sinusitis. This has been life changing. Other specilists I consulted did not recommend the wholistic approach to managing underlying allergy with desensitisation therapy to support better surgical outcomes. Professor Harvey works with allergy specialists in the same practice so that it can be diagnosed and treated, and at a lower cost than incurred if consulting two separate specialists who have to write reports to each other. I can recommend his kind and thoughtful manner and his advice was always accurate sensible.

My mother and carer called Pof Richard Harvey's rooms today to ask about the consultation fees. When my mother asked the person who answered the call, Kylie, if Prof Harvey offers a reduction in fees for persons who hold a pension card, she was told in a loud, rude and condescending tone "NO..NO..NO..NO.." And yes, the "NO's" were said over and over again. One hearing the call from the other side might have suspected Kylie was being attacked. Kylie, it was a simple question, and one "no" politely would have been sufficient. Prof Harvey has obviously the right to charge what he sees fit. There is no dispute or argument about that. However, there should be graciousness, decorum , respect and ultimately politeness when dealing with people, particularly patients and/or their carers who in seeking help, are at their most vulnerable. For your information, I have a registered long term disability. I did not ask for that condition. That also does not mean I could not or would not pay the fees. For your information if it has escaped your knowledge living in your particular bubble, there is currently a cost of living crisis and people, regardless of whether they are pensioners or not, are doing things particularly hard, but add a disability it is really tough. Your rude and derisive attitude is not warranted when a simple enquiry is being made. People on the pension are not the abject. I cannot be certain if this comes from Professor Harvey, they say fish stinks from the head, I hope not. Professor Harvey may not be aware of this derogatory attitude that my mother (and therefore me, as I was the person whom she was enquiring about) was subjected to today, so in this review I am stating it. Kylie 's mean, rude tone, was very hurtful and was unnecessary and discrimatory and clearly she needs to glean some perspective on how to regard and treat vulnerable and disadvantaged persons, even when it is just a simple enquiry as to the costs of treatment.

I Initially went to see Professor Harvey in 2010 because I was having sinus difficulties. I eventually had sinus surgery in 2021! Over the years, Professor Harvey has always been extremely patient, empathetic and kind. I was reluctant to have surgery for a number of reasons: 1. I was worried about having surgery on my head! 2. I knew people that had had sinus surgery before and were in MUCH pain and discomfort post op. 3. I was concerned 'something would go wrong'. Following severe sinus infections and my age, I once again discussed surgery with Professor Harvey. I was NEVER pressured into surgery. I had quite extensive surgery. At all times Professor Harvey and also staff at the hospital were extremely professional and caring and listened to my concerns. Honestly, following the op I was not in pain, just uncomfortable. I was also very tired for a couple of weeks. One year later I am still going really well. I can breathe freely, sleep quietly and have had zero sinus infections. My only regret is not having the surgery earlier! I honestly cannot speak of Professor Harvey highly enough and have recommended him to anyone that has nose/sinus issues. Kathy C.

I recently had surgery with Professor Harvey for the removal of a mass in my sinus. From initial consult with the clinic to surgery and post-surgical care I have been incredibly happy with Professor Harvey and his team. Susan was quick to email me and find an appropriate appointment and remained in contact in the lead up to and arranging my post-surgical appointment. As promised, Professor Harvey contacted me a few days after my surgery to make sure I was ok, ask how I was doing, answer any questions I had and again go over the healing process and next steps for my post-surgery appointment. Professor Harvey has a very kind, knowledgeable and confident bedside manner, leaving me with no doubt I was in very capable hands for my procedure. I experienced little to no bruising, swelling or pain and finally I am able to breathe properly again! I would highly recommend Professor Harvey and his team.
