My dad was under the care of dr chang and he was brilliant. He was compassionate and did a great job for my dad.

Dr Chang and his team have been incredibly thorough, kind and supportive when my son had surgery recently. Dr Chang took incredible care with explaining what needed to be done and answering all of our questions. We are so thankful to Dr Chang and his team for looking after our son. We couldn't recommend him enough!

Dr Phillip Chang is our new hero! We thank him and his medical /audiology team, wholeheartedly for performing my 6 year old sons cochlear implant with such diligence and bedside care. They worked restlessly to get my sons hearing improved from severe hearing loss, to beyond my expectations, and I feel my prayers have been answered for my child after being in their care and professional reception. He also looked after me as a parent, checking in with me to reassure me, to care for my psychological well-being as a concerned parent, and he returned my son to me post-surgery with a smile, knowing they did the best possible implant surgery, doing their part to assure my little one has improved access to speech clarity and in this, changed my sons whole life trajectory for better! I have utmost confidence that this kind, professional and caring man can help in this way, and I trust him for my sons second surgery /cochlear implant if we ever need it. He is worth the wait, and so generous with his time and beautiful bedside manner too!

Two years ago, my 7-year old son was diagnosed with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss and despite progress with his hearing aids, he was still not where his speech should be. Then we meet Dr. Chang through Shepherd Centre who explained the necessity of having a CI and the sooner, the better. He was happy to answer all my questions, and was very patient throughout these times. When surgery day came, Dr. Chang went to see me to let me know how my son was doing, so all my fears and anxiety went away. Two days after my son's surgery, we had his activation and everybody was impressed at how cleanly the surgery/incision was done. (Yeah, not like pics of the bloody mess that other CI recipients shared in FB support groups). I will always be grateful for Dr. Chang's skill and expertise and if my son decides to get a CI on his other ear, I would be very happy for Dr. Chang to do it. Please do not be dissuaded by the negative comments that aren't even remotely connected to Dr. Chang's skills as a doctor. I would never put punctuality or office management skills above his medical skills/expertise. Just imagine this, if the doctor is doing surgery to you or your family and encounter complications, would you want your doctor to rush through things just to keep his appointments? I think you would want a doctor who will take his time to cross all ts and dot all is. All I can say is that my son was up and about hours after the surgery. He had appetite, and didn't complain about taste. Very minimal pain (nothing that paracetamol and ibuprofen can fix). Images attached were taken around 20hrs after surgery.
