    Chess Moving did a great job relocating my personal items overseas. My furniture arrived in good order - the team dispatching my goods were responsive and helpful. I needed to add an special painting at the last minute which they collected, perfectly wrapped - in its own crate, and delivered it without a mark. So grateful for their service! Made life easy and stress free!

    Very bad customer service experience trying to get a quote for a Sydney to USA move. The person I delt with was extremely rude and did not care about servicing me (even implied they do not need my business), didn't get back to me with a quote when promised, did not respond to my follow-ups, kept blaming other departments, and took over a week (although I told them this was an ASAP need) to tell me they couldn't accomdate the move based on volumn (although from the very first contact two weeks before, I provided a detailed list of what the item volumn was). They also got the destination address wrong in what they were basing their quote off of, but after such poor service, I didn't bother asking them to correct it and def did want to take the risk of hiring them to move my things across the world. HI AGAIN CHESS - you responded to my review, unfortunatly I can't respond to YOUR respond to your response on Google. I AM HAPPY TO SEND ALL THE CORRESPONDANCE I HAVE WITH CHESS, INCLUDING THE EMAIL OF COMPLAINT I SENT TO UPPER MANAGEMENT WHICH WAS NOT RESPONDED TO. ADDITIONALLY, the "customer service" (I'm using that term loosly) person was named Tanya. And no, you wouldn't have the reference of my quote, BECAUSE AFTER 3 WEEKS, AND ME PROVIDING A FULL INVENTORY OF THE ITEMS FROM DAY 1, AND YOU REFUSING TO VISIT THE APARTMENT TO SEE WHAT NEEDED TO BE REMOVED, you emailed me saying you couldn't service the move because of some reason about the quantity. 3 WEEKS DELAYED A FUNERAL, delayed a grieving family from having their daughter's items back. PLEASE REPLY WITH WHAT EMAIL TO SEND ALL MY INFORMATION TO/RECORDS OF CHESS. And don't act like you have no records and imply I'm making this up - GROSS. grow up and be better.

    Terrible experience and incredibly dishonest company. The two staff who came to pack our stuff and load the shipping container was where the professionalism ended, which is a shame because those two alone were great, but once they have your stuff, it is all downhill from there. We were given a 12 week timeframe to ship our belongings to UK, from day of packing to final delivery, which was supposed to account for covid delays however, it was closer to 6 months until our things were finally delivered; and the shipment was delayed by so much, it was also stuck at port and we were slapped with additional port congestion fees, which is in the fine print but was never explicitly explained to us properly in person; we were only made aware of the extra fees after the fact when we received a bill for it without prior explanation, nothing was relayed to us at any point, especially when they knew the charge would be incurred earlier and they couldve given us more notice; if it isnt paid, they hold your items hostage while charging additional storage fees. Furniture arrived with damage and they lost a couple of irreplaceable artworks; both ends of the company failed to own to up to it, we have no evidence they even tried to look for them and it has been a hassle getting clear communication from them since, while they kept insinuating we just hadnt unpacked them yet, but there were only two boxes that couldve been that size/shape and not something you easily miss, especially when our flat isnt huge - the artworks simply never showed up. The movers who delivered our shipment came later in the day than expected and as a result just left early before the job was done, as it was getting dark and therefore too late for them; we were told that as part of the service, the unpackers would take all the packaging with them, but they did not. Furthermore, we paid an exorbitant amount for insurance from them, if you can even call it that, and when we tried to put in a claim for the missing items, unexpected costs incurred from delays and property damaged, they denied putting one through as they had internally investigated themselves and found no issue. Just seemed unethical to offer such a product internally and a complete scam when they can just deny any claim Willy nilly. We absolutely in no way received a service that remotely resembled what we paid for, and if we could give less stars, we would. Not a company we would ever recommend.
