Located in an historic building on the main Street of Williamstown, the library has a pleasant contemporary vibe and the designers have attempted to separate a "Quiet Area" by putting it upstairs (also accessible by an elevator). But, unfortunately, as happens almost everywhere these days, noise levels are frequently excessive...even upstairs .Not uncommon to cop wackjobs talking loudly on phones like they're sitting in their own living room and kids running around screaming at the top of their voices Luna Park style with no effort being made to control them. Quiet study areas should be just that. Those who refuse to do the right thing should simply be told to shut up or get out (typing this as a former librarisn). However, it seems that there is no longer any conduct management forthcoming from staff.....anywhere. Sadly, libraries have just about had it now unless you view them as being a place to kick up your heels and party. What's next ? Perhaps, bring the dog along and turn the joint into an off the leash facility !

I love this library so much. So peaceful and calm, wonderful staff, nice building with plants, it feels really good to be in. I LOVE how easy it is to renew books online, and flexible policies on borrowing and returning things late. I feel so safe here and am already enjoying a range of fiction, non-fiction, and comic books. this library is my happy place!
