Great location but badly managed by national parks staff. It is clear this government-run department needs a cultural change and training in basic customer service. Staff at the front desk don't know how to use their own reservation system. Cabins are not replenished with toilet paper during your entire stay! This causes a run on toilet paper at the local shop. Cabin guests are seen begging for toilet paper from the front office staff. What do you expect for a $350 per night unserviced cabin? BYO toilet paper - despite annual complaints - it has been like this for many years. Need a sharp knife or cutting board - easier to drive to fish creek or yanakie than negotiate with the staff for basic utensils. The managers who oversee this Fawlty Towers establishment- hide in the rooms behind the front desk - no amount of cajoling will get them to come out and face their angry customers. And why should they? Their bosses sit in Foster - away from the day to day nuisance of having to run a national parks service for the public. We love the prom - but the staff and management of the park spoils it.

Stayed in a cabin. One queen bedroom at one end of the cabin and a bunkroom at the other end containing two bunks. There was 5 adults. The bunks were comfy. Cabin spacious. Had everything you need. Just byo all your food. Lots to do. Beautiful walks and boat cruise was fantastic. Spring is a great time to go. Not school holidays. Not hot, no flies nor mozzies. The general store had everything you could possibly want. Peaceful, quiet location Plenty of wildlife. The birds were amazing and the wombats and possums friendly. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay.
