Common Man

Some of the reviews make me genuinely sad. This cafe was honestly a huge hit that I came back a week after Id eaten there because the meal I ate was so good. The food is seasoned incredibly well, which you dont see a lot. The flavour is simple, but still gives the classic home cooked feeling you crave. The staff were very kind, always served very quickly. Will definitely go back!

Nice location and good decor. However, the compliments stop there. From little greeting at the door, being ushered to an QR code for menu and having breakfast ON A WEEKEND stop at 11:30am, we were disappointed. (We got there at 11:45am and were told no breakfast.... after chasing down someone to help us as no one came to our table). However as we had a booking at The Lume, we had to eat something. Cost over $30 for a burger and coffee (also ordered calarmi and loaded fries... add another $40), so we were expecting nice food considering the price point. The calamari was undercooked and oily, the loaded fries were worse than what you get at a fast food place, and the chai latte was too sugary (despite saying no to sugar). Save your money if you want food and go elsewhere. I presume the place would be nice for drinks.
