The Shed Cafe located just inside the Melbourne Exhibition Centre is a recent (June 2016) addition to MCEC and offers visitors as well as those working there a convenient place to grab a coffee and mouth-watering pastries without having to wonder afar. The coffee is good but the mouth-watering pastries are better lol. There's a small seating area along side the cafe as well as an outdoor seating area where you an sit and enjoy in the spectacular Yarra River and city backdrop views over their coffee. Personally I think the prices at the Shed Cafe are on the high side but the service is great and the staff is very friendly.

I came in at about 9:30am today (9th Oct) after my vaccination. First time, so I was looking at the menu for something substantial since I hadn't eaten and was told that the items on the menu (which is right in front of the counter) wasn't available as it was just lunch only; that's fine. No issues there. Except that I could hear the caucasian woman with the dark red/purple tinted hair and the Asian woman with the two braids (both on the coffee machine), talking about me. Particularly the red/purple haired one. Talking about how they don't get why people try to order from the lunch menu, with a judgemental tone like I'm inconveniencing them or being rude to them. Maybe make snide comments a little more quietly? I'm literally 1.5m to 2m away from them. I get anxious and panic when I'm going to a new place because I don't know what they offer. This is why. The woman on the till/register was nice though; took the time to explain what what was available, friendly throughout the entire interaction. I hope the red/purple woman(who made the original comment) gets fired though. Complain about me if you want, but do it quietly. I was in hospitality for 8 years, I get it. But being nice is a part of your job description.

Really? This place. Sandwiches and coffee at a convention center. How revolutionary. For real though, dope Toasties in the morning.
