We just had a great weekend in Rutherglen thanks to Nick. Your winery and food suggestions were all perfect and your Cadillac car experience just topped it off. I would highly recommend Old School Cruises when visiting the region.

Oh what a brilliant day! We were lucky enough to wrangle a weekend away without the kids and headed on down to the Rutherglen for our wedding anniversary. Obviously keen to do some wine tasting I dropped Nick a line about teeing up an old school cruise. I was expecting a good day with a few vineyards. Check. A beautiful old school car (Xavier). Check. What I wasn't expecting was just how much fun the whole experience was. Nick's local knowledge & love of the region is both obvious & infectious. We were privileged to see a touch behind the tourist veneer and get a feel for some of the people & places that make this region so special. Nick put together a great itinerary that showcased some of local highlights and the beautiful people who run them. The wineries were lovely, lunch was just amazing and all the people we met along the way were welcoming. The whole day was such an amazing experience. Moreover, Nick himself is a deadset legend. You could just tell from the first few moments his warmth (even on super cold morning) and how much he enjoyed taking us on the tour as much as we loved being there. His knowledge of the region and effervescent personality were the key difference in turning a good into a great day. Thanks again Nick; words don't do justice to how amazing a day you made it for us. Do yourself a favour and book an Old School Cruise; for us it's not "would we do one again", it's "when are we coming back to do another".

What a way to spend a day! Dont think about it. Just do it. My love for Rutherglen levelled up meeting Nick from Old School Cruises over the Christmas break; and a day on the road with him in Gloria was the life restoring elixir we needed to shake off two years couped up at home. Top Bloke doesnt scratch the surface of describing Nick. His love for his hometown and community was evident from the moment he picked us up. He waxed lyrical about the people he knows in the community, their work, and their businesses; and made us feel less like customers and more like friends as each minute our day tripping around wineries of the Rutherglen unfolded. Nicks super-skilled: restoring cars for and running old school cruises; quite literally building, working, and running bakery caf Caffeine n Machine (stellar coffee) with his wife (that also has a motorcycle museum out back); and having used his trade skills/background in the community including building the gorgeous white wrought iron gazebo overlooking the vineyard on the lawns of Tuileries. He was an epic tour guide. Whilst he gave us space to connect 1:1 with winemakers and hosts at cellar doors, he was sure to share what he knew about the wineries enroute and introduced us on arrival to ensure we felt welcomed. On the road, we chatted about the region, his cars, and swapped stories. At Chambers Rosewood Nick took us to see a wine barrel dating back to the 1800s before our tasting which we would have otherwise missed had we gone it alone; and when my itinerary went awry time wise after a longer than anticipated lunch at Lake Moodemere late in the day, he phoned a few friends to squeeze us in to one final tasting. Hes also a really nice guy. The only thing better than Nick was Gloria :D Gloria is Old School Cruises super sexy, black, 1960 Australian Chevrolet Belair with a burbling V8 engine that Nick purchased and restored in 2019 after it had rested untouched in a shed for 30 years. She loves being on the open road; effortlessly cruising us down the highways and back roads of Rutherglen. Old school cruises has three cars (check out the website), and you can select which one you want to cruise in on private tours. I planned a whole day on the road with Nick as a surprise Christmas present for my partner, but Nick can arrange travel for pick-ups and a drop offs for single winery visits through to chauffeuring parties and guest in all his cars for events. Cannot speak highly enough about this day, about Gloria, and about Nick. Well be back for sure. My only note to self for next time is to ensure I create some fat in the itinerary is to spend a little more time cruising the countryside.

We hired the 59 Bel Air for our wedding and our driver Steve was early, accommodating and a good conversationalist, which made the hour long trip to our venue a pleasure.
