A month or so ago my GP referred me to Dr Hurtado because of a growth on my tongue. The first consultation with Dr Hurtado was very reassuring- I felt that he examined my neck and throat carefully and thoroughly and then recommended a biopsy. This was organized promptly and efficiently. I was so impressed with the level of care and support provided to me by the staff there. Prior to the biopsy things became really sore and I called the Richmond reception for advice. I was treated respectfully by the caring staff who got back to me on numerous occasions to check on me and to send me to the ENT Hospital at Dr Hurtado's request. Yesterday I had a follow up appointment with Dr Hurtado. When it was my time, he was already examining my MRI and did a further round of examinations. I found him to be incredibly friendly, caring and professional. He reassured me all was well. I found my whole experience from beginning to end to be excellent and I would definitely see Dr Hurtado again. I want to thank all of the staff.

I want to write this review as transparent as possible whilst still acknowledging the expertise of the doctors here. The review is specific to my experience with Dr Fiona Hill but I cannot speak for the other doctors in the clinic. I recently visited the clinic as I have been experiencing increasing symptoms with my dizziness, ringing in ears, loss of balance, popping in ears sensations and hearing problems. the day of the visit I was contacted by the clinic and asked if I had had a recent hearing test. I needed to get one done at the clinic which is an independent business. Not bulk billed (and can be done bulk billed at other hearing centers) The tester was more thorough in her questioning than Dr Fiona. On seeing Dr Fiona I was asked what was happening and I gave my story again, (first indicator the hearing test and questions by tester are not because of genuine concern and were not communicated thoroughly to the ENT doctor). Dr Fiona then showed me the results of the hearing test and reconfirmed that hearing aids were needed. That was all fine except I was not there for my hearing problem. After explaining my symptoms again Dr Fiona proceeded to look briefly in my ears and my throat. The level of this examination was deplorable. Each symptom I had was down played with a simple, "well your ears are fine, your tonsils are medium size and your nasal passage is enough" Let me add that this was in complete contrast to two other ENT specialists I had seen in Turkey in 2020 and Bali 2021. My history of LPR was not even discussed in the office with Dr Fiona and this is apparently something that Melbourne ENT have prided themselves in with Dr Paul even having a video on Youtube with regards to the complications associated with LPR and throat and ears problems. I discussed the Maxillary Sinus that was found back in 2020 and was immediately, and I do mean immediately rebutted with a reply: "We don't touch those, it has been proven that they have no side effects at all, so we just ignore them" I suggest Dr Fiona catch up on the current finding associated with sinus cysts and show a bit more respect and understanding as I can clearly state that my maxillary cyst does cause teeth sensitivity in the area of the cyst at certain times of the month, I have constant post nasal drip from the left side and constant sinus blockage on the left side of my face. The facial sensitivity does increase from time to time. After that I knew I was in the wrong office with a doctor eager to push me through and get on with her day, or a doctor who was in no way qualified to deal with the issues I am having. To finish of the appointment, with no thorough examination and each concern being downplayed she wrote that my problem was vestibular and I needed a neurologist. Interestingly, ENT specialists are trained with vestibular issues and it is recommended that your first point of contact is to see an ENT if you are having these types of problems. But I advise this is not the clinic that will help you. As stated by the doctor herself, "people pretty much come to ENT's for tonsils." So after being charged FULL PRICE to be told to go and see and neurologist, there isn't anything they can do, I left that clinic utterly disillusioned with my health issues and the level of competency of the ENTS in the Melbounre ENT group. To top it off, I left my earpods in the office and rang to verify they were there, on verification there was not offer to post them out to me as I had travelled a distance to get there, but instead just told to come in and grab them when I can. I write this review with an element of shock and laughter at how far the Australian Medical system has fallen. Please be wary of the clinic. I will be letting people know that they are better seeking the help from the Royal E and E hospital. Yes the waiting times are longer but they are professional and much more qualified than what I encountered at the Melbourne ENT group.

Saw Dr Ryan De Freitas in Nov 2020 for sinus issues. After a basic exam with no imaging, he gave me a spray. That didn't work and there was no follow up. After 2.5 years of worsening symptoms, including vision, balance, face and neck spasms, the inability to breath, loss of sleep, and the pain. It turns out I've got severely inflamed maxillary sinuses due to a deviated septum (simple really), and the complications due to his inaction have been devastating and expensive. I would highly recommend NOT going to him.

Dr JJ and his team were just wonderful throughout. JJ even called us on Christmas day when we had concerns. My daughter's recovery from the surgery was swift, without issues and she is now enjoying a much fuller life. I can't recommend JJ or this practice highly enough.

I saw Nicole (audiologist) and Janitha (ENT) about my tinnitus and it was such a pleasant experience! Both were very thorough, took their time with me and explained everything really well. It's rare I don't feel like doctors/specialists are rushing to get to the next patient but I felt like they both really cared. Thank you!
