Stayed 26 February 2021 Cleanliness -:the accommodation was filthy, grout and grime on tile surfaces, toilet bowl brown, around the trim on the floor as the grit and scum had not been cleaned for a very long time. All cupboards had dirt and dust and off-putting. We have never experienced such poor hygiene anywhere we stayed through out our travels. The continental breakfast consisted of a loaf of bread, 3 bananas and a couple of unripened mandarins that could not be peeled. The front entrance area with tables and chairs was so filthy from dust and cobwebs you could not sit on them As we stayed 2 nights at a cost of $800 and certainly not value for what you get. It was such a disappointment that the environment was so unhygienic and un-inviting. We wrote to the hosts with our feedback and the response was that we are un-intelligent, ungrateful, that we are the problem, that this is a country property and as its tank water, this is the reason toilets and tiles are brown with dirt. In relation to the breakfast we were accused of demolishing a loaf of bread - but it was all we had to eat for 2 mornings apart from a small jar of muesli. We had hoped through our feedback that it would be valued and used to make improvements. But instead we were insulted, ridiculed, told we are the trouble makers for our opinion rather than some responsibility and accountability taken for the condition of the property. We stated in our feedback that we did not want to publish a negative review as this could be bad for business - but after their scathing and insulting response felt compelled to write about our experiences. We are a professional middle age couple who have travelled extensively and have a very good appreciation for value for money and willing to pay a higher end price for a quality property. This place was definitely a disappointment. And to think that anyone running a business and treat guests in this fashion is acceptable in todays competitive market where a review should be valued. Definitely do not recommend.
