Very few restaurants in the area, so you've got to take what you can get. We ordered a pizza and a barramundi. The pizza arrived fairly quickly but the barramundi for my wife somehow got lost. On the second reminder on our part we were told that it's coming, while 3 other tables had been served before us despite ordering later. After waiting for 40 minutes (I was already done with the pizza), the manager came to our table to apologize for the delay. She offered us a free drink to make up for the inconvenience, which we appreciated. The barrundi was good. The pizza, however, honestly wasn't what I expected. Granted, the portion was huge...you won't leave hungry. Nd perhaps that's what the locals are looking for. But it really wasn't a very good pizza. Despite copious amounts of shredded ham (sorry, it was way too much) and cheese (again, way too much), it was very difficult to discern any particular taste. All it did was fill you up, but in a bad way. The base was fine, but seriously...drop at least 50% of the cheese, add WAY (!) more tomato sauce, use more oregano and use less, yet higher quality toppings...and you're on your way to a decent pizza. No offence, but what you're making right now is like a really bad version of an American pan pizza and it's a sure-fire way to cardiovascular disease. And finally, all of this could be excused (since it's a tavern/bar afterall), but at this price level $24 upwards for a pizza, it's a really bad deal. We've had so much better in Melbourne for far less money. But hey...I guess you can do it here cause of the tourist trail. Aplogies for the negative review, but that's what they are for and hopefully management will consider making some changes.
