        From mid 1945 till late 1948 we lived at The Dindi Sawmill. Our Father Jack worked as boiler attendant in the Sawmill. Freezing Winters and Hot Summers. No Shops or School, my brothers and myself had an amazing time in the forested surroundings, Foxes and Snakes and an occasional Hare were seen. My Mum never saw a shop for 3 1/2 years Father suffered when snows came as the Mill had no walls, men lived in Huts and a few other families such as the Goss family lived in the settlement. A really amazing refuge from the world, pity we grow up and get swept into the rat race, The Dindi was a place of Peace and Quiet. Loved it !
