Okami Japanese Restaurant

Wonderful food, great service and a wonderful environment. You cant go past this fabulous Japanese restaurant if you want authentic Japanese food. The price is incredibly good and its a great place for the whole family.

Me and my partner went to this place on Saturday 5.30pm. We have been in Ocami Caulfield, Hampton and Essendon before multiple times. Every time we enjoyed our experience a lot! But this time, that was awful. Small space between tables, ridiculously long waiting time for every dish, some of the meals were tasteless (miso beef). Half of what we ordered never arrived. They were telling us, that this is a backload on orders, but then some of the dishes came cold, which tells me that they waiting to serve a meal on purpose, in order to save money. Not worth of money at all. If you want to go to Ocami, go to different branch. We were offered a free glass of wine when we complained, but I still dont think 80 dollars is worth of what we had.

Very disappointed at this location, we have been to other Okami restaurants and it's always been really good. But as I can now see from the other comments, we spent more time waiting for dishes that never came. Multiple times where we had no food on the table, and when I asked on at least 4 occasions, we are still waiting. We were told, "sorry the kitchen is very busy" but saw the bigger tables receiving the same dishes we asked for Spoke to the young guy when paying and he apologised, and didn't charge me for the glass of red wine I had, which was nice of him. But with the $80 bill; was the least they could have done after how much food they decided to deliver to the table. Note, it was that obvious. We were there for an hour (and actually decided to leave because of the service) and at least 45 minutes of that, we were sitting with no food at our table, ordering the same food again and again that never came. Looking at the other comments, it appears that this restaurant operates like this, but it's definitely not like this at other Okami locations we have been too. Will never return to this one. Really disappointing
