You won't see it but if you get close enough you will hear it You won't find it it's not marked on any maps. As you gaze out across the valley from the viewing platform to the better-known spectacle of Sabine Falls within the Great Otway National Park, hidden higher up in the cold rainforest verdure is the seldom seen hitherto unheard of UPPER SABINE FALLS. Nature has sadly botched the visual splendour of this hidden gem, so it doesn't now look anywhere near as photogenic as the pic shows. A landslip of heavy fallen timber 2010 and an avalanche of debris has completely altered this lush and peaceful scene. :( While not exactly a secret destination, nor it is an easy 'walk in the park' for the inquisitive. Until the dreadful landslip, Upper Sabine Falls was a popular half-day walk for the adventurous accustomed to steep tracks, poor light, fog, rocky, overgrown slopes, leeches and biting cold. The reward of course was the splendour of the falls framed by myriad tree ferns. ... beautiful lookout at the end, although its quite far from the actual falls. quite a strenuous walk coming up, but equally as hard going down because of the amount of mud. i recommend wearing thick hiking boots on this week because your casual trainers will be ruined! overall gorgeous forest walk

The path is extremely overgrown and muddy. It was very slippery at parts and especially since there was no railings this was quite dangerous, The viewing platform is also very far from the waterfall. I would recommend taking on a different hike.

Warning !!! Park at the signed rest area. Do not follow google maps down an unmarked gravel track it quickly turns to sticky clay with wheel ruts. I slid off the end of the gravel and into the mud on a road that goes NOWHERE. Took me an half hour to drive 50 meters after lowering tyre pressure to 15psi to get out 5 meters at a time after using sticks under the wheels. On the way out another 4 cars were on their way down. We alerted them to the danger. If you get stuck there there is no mobile coverage so its a very long walk to get out. Thanks to the bloke in the bmw who had a portable compressor for my tyres. You legend.
