The Oaks Delatite Apartment

We recently had a 3-night midweek stay at the Oaks just prior to the snow season starting. The pre-stay communication with Lynda was fantastic - she provided clear instructions to find the place (very handy as we arrived when dark!), and also let us know where/when we could pick-up local food provisions. She also recommended a couple of local eating places, and we tried out two of them (including the Hunt Club next door - very convenient!). The apartment was clean and well maintained, with a few surprise extras waiting for us which was a lovely touch. Sheets and towels were pristine. Having the private laundry facilities was a big bonus, and I could see this being extremely useful during the longer snow season stays. There were 4 of us staying so we only used the 2 queen rooms, and having the separation of one of the bedrooms worked really well for us as a group. The shared living area was fantastic to just chill in on a cold Autumn night, and the view in the morning was lovely. The area was super quiet, and the communal swimming pool and tennis courts looked great - bit cold for us to use in May, but would definitely have used them in the summer - the view from the pool area was stunning. The location worked well for us - only a short drive to Mansfield, Mt Buller and Goughs Bay. There were lots of DVDs, books and board games available in the apartment which was a nice bonus. I understand from reading the Airbnb page that they plan to do some updates/upgrades next year - the place is already fantastic, and I'm sure any changes will take it to a 6-star place! We would highly recommend The Oaks (and Lynda as a host) to anyone heading in the Mansfield/Mt Buller direction.

Absolutely loved our stay at Merrijig! Super easy check-in, keypad doors meant no messing around with keys so quick access to the apartment when we needed it! Living spaces were really roomy and had all the fittings of home decked out kitchen (new appliances, crockery, coffee machine, the works!), aircon, and lots of natural light. Honestly could have seen ourselves staying there for a long haul! Outdoor deck area was a great place to unwind in the afternoon with beautiful views of rolling hills and pastures, fitted with a BBQ too which we fired up a couple of times to cook our breakfast. Master bedroom was a dream, super comfy bed and fitted with modern en suite (never knew I needed a heated towel rack in my life before). Facilities at the apartment site was great. Tennis court and Swimming pool were just a 2 minute walk away, overlooking acres of green farmland. Such a great way to kill some time in between our daytrips up to Mt Bulla. Oh and to top it off, the apartment is literally a few minutes walk away from the Hunt Club Pub. So handy to be able to grab a feed, have a few drinks and only be minutes from home! Overall, was a fantastic stay and looking forward to stealing some time up there again soon.

We had such an amazing stay at The Oaks Delatite Apartments in Merrijig.The apartment is huge, and provided all the necessities we needed for a great weekend (the nespresso coffee machines were a big plus!). The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and cookware needed to cook a great dinner, and all the appliances worked perfectly. The apartment was clean, well maintained and spacious. I think the thing we loved most was having our own private and separate spaces, but being able to come back to a communal living area. This would be such a great place for a couple of families with children to stay - or like us a weekend away with a group of friends! We never felt like we were stepping on anybodies toes, and there was plenty of room for us all to relax. We especially loved the little touches in the apartment, and the notes and recommendations were such a great addition! Our host, Lynda was fantastic and recommended we stopped in to Mansfield for essentials and food on our way, letting us know what time the supermarkets closed (as she knew we were arriving later in the day), and even recommended some delicious pizza just up the road. The pub next door was good for a feed as well, and a short stroll back to the accommodation - I will also say we didn't really notice too much noise from the pub when we were back at the apartment. We took great use of the board games on offer, and the amenities such as the pool and tennis courts. I would definitely check out the view from the pool, it was so serene and relaxing sitting out there. Just a short drive to the base of Mt Bulla, I can definitely see myself booking here again during snow season! I would highly recommend the Oaks Delatite Apartments at Merrijig to anyone looking for a weekend retreat.
