I am a student at AVETA and am studying the unarmed security course. When I first started, I was worried and unsure about the course. But the team at AVETA made the experience one of the best. Brendan is an excellent teacher and his streetwise approach is nothing to scoff at. His lessons are those that really hit home. Dr Jon is a great teacher and his direct method of teaching is unsurpassed. His lessons are methodical and thorough, and not easily forgotten. Ali (Syed) the student coordinator keeps in touch with students and things like that... Overall, this course is, in my opinion, the best Victoria has to offer and well worthwhile to be enrolled in. But don't take my word for it, give the team at AVETA a call and see for yourself.

Am currently doing my cert 2 security course over here. So far, its going alright. We have an amazing trainer named Dr. Jon hudson whose really passionate about security industry. Perhaps might be strict when it comes to attendance and practicals. But over all good to attain some skill. Only thing I didn't like was, trainer might be partial in between favourite students and average students which I find it very uncomfortable and 'confronting'. As per the website, they claim to be having a flexible hours with weekend classes. But in reality no, they dont have any spare classes. Only classes run from Monday to Wednesday with a fixed time table which is very inconvenient to me. EDITED on 24/03/23 Now, they started having evening classes since last few weeks with the help of new trainer. I have finished my cert 2 successfully instead of facing all odds. What a shame few students were failed. It's been a month since I have got my certificate in my hands. But still unable to apply for license due to no support from college. Over all: ok-ok college which has alot of potential to grow with the knowledge they offer. Could have been better if they have more trainers or more classes to deliver the subject on desired period. I wouldn't recommend anyone who are not serious enough to do the course. Cuz u need to attend Monday to Wednesday continuously. U gotta sacrifice ur work time though and more important this college not going to help you with your documents for applying security licence. Pros: Highly skilled trainer. Low fees. Cons: Doesn't help you to apply for your license. Partial with students. Alot of desis. Wait time takes forever in terms of customer desk/service. Attendance is a must. Not really worth it.
