Old Sawdust Kiln

There are three sawdust kilns in Mansfield, the closest only about 200 meters behind the old Mansfield Railway Station and others bit further away towards the Whiters Lane. These date back to 1940's. They were used to burn sawdust from the timber mill which operated just behind the Railway Station. The kilns were included in the Heritage sites considered by the local council as a part of Mansfiled Planning Scheme.
