Dr Kate Franklyn

Kate has been great from the start after another doctor recommended me to her. She is very thorough in exploring different treatment options, actively listens and is very pleasant during consults. She has my joints feeling much better. For that alone, I am very grateful. I would strongly recommend her, as she is not only an experienced rheumatologist, but is very professional and thorough in her approach. Reception staff have also been good to deal with.

Excellent care! I was told for many years my pain is in my head. Within a few visits I was given Diagnosis, and a plan for improvement with meds. Now a few years on, Im not only moving better, my pain has significantly decreased. Not been in so much pain, Im happier, healthier, Im able to exercise, and Im a better mum. According to my child Im not a grumpy mum anymore. After years of not being able to work, Im working again too. I have a life because of Kate!

Whilst Dr Kate Franklyn is a quality rheumatologist, the practice and communication style needs serious improvement. I've had issues with delayed scripts, wrong scripts, poor time-management and communication delays (or nothing at all). For $720 an hour, it's pretty ridiculous. But due to the stupid system and lack of regulation of prices, Doctors (not just Kate) can charge whatever they want, putting low-income people through more stress of which they don't need. Something needs to change. Kate is also very hard to reach, and cannot be reached directly according to assistant staff at Melbourne Rheumatology.

Extremely Busy Centre for a reason. But Dr Kate Franklyn is amazing, she is more expensive then usual but she spends longer with her patients, so you get extra time and attention for that extra money. That extra time and attention translates to significantly better patient outcomes in my experience. I was miss and under diagnosed for 7 years before i saw Kate, and now i am stable, and thriving. I've gone fron living off a disability pension to starting my own business under her care and super vision. I'm moving to Brisbane in a few months, but i will continue my care down here under Kate. She is worth the travel and inconvenience to see her. I'm sorry the other reviewer had such a terrible experience but i can not speak highly enough of Kate.

Dr Kate FRANKLYN is an awesome Rheumatologist. I was previously under the care of Dr James HARKNESS who was excellent & Dr FRANKLYN has carried on the tradition of the gold standard when it comes to patient care. Dr FRANKLYN is very caring, compassionate & listens to any concerns I have as well as being very proactive in my health care. I can't recommend her highly enough! I have also found the reception staff to be pleasant, courteous & helpful as well.
