I employed PBS to replace our scotia and block an opening to seal off a gap which was allowing hot air to escape upstairs. The quote included wood being used plus two coats of paint to close off the cavity. I have no problems with the scotia but the work on the cavity is appalling. I asked the worker (at least 2 times )what the material he was using and I was told it was better than wood - it turns out it was plastic !I realise it is an awkward area to close off BUT - I had sent pictures to Jarlath - Ali - his worker had seen the job prior to me receiving the quote. When he installed the plastic it was shiny ( unpainted) and reflecting light. I had to ask him to paint it - there were gaps all around the area. He used sealant and I could still see through parts - he applied MORE sealant. Unfortunately I had paid 70 per cent up front - the day he left I was asked to pay in full and received yet another payment request the next morning - I paid in full . At that stage I hadnt really realised how bad the work was. That afternoon I contacted Jarlath and sent him photos - he agreed that the sealant didnt look the best and arranged to send someone out to fix it. It was then I found out the substance used was plastic. Sealant is NOT the problem - ill fitting plastic is. I have spoken to Jarlath and sent photos of the supposed fix . It looks worse than before - I even mentioned that he wouldnt like it in his house .He also advised me if I wanted wood it would have to go to a joinery and the costs would be expensive. ( I wasnt told that when I received the original quote).His reply to me is that I signed off on the job ( I didnt ) but I could see Ali was incapable or unprepared to fix the problem, and I had paid in full . End of story. I guess theres no fool like an old fool. Jarlath has contacted me and has agreed to rectify the problem by removing the plastic and replacing it with wood and organising the painting. He could not have been more helpful

Really impressed with PBS. In particular Sam was excellent. Will be looking to use their services again.
