The Dan

The Dan is definitely situated in a beautiful area of Kallista and the interior of the home is very clean, 5 stars for these 2 points. But l give The Dan an overall 3 stars because its about the overall experience that counts. The place could do with some maintenance and a exterior cleanup is in order, cobwebs and dirty glass impaired an otherwise stunning view through the pool windows from upstairs family area. Door lock to the main bathroom was broken, little things like no kitchen tea towels, no hand towels provided in bathrooms or toilets, no sugar, no tea bags, no coffee available, fireplace advertised but no firewood, ducted heating was zoned to main living area but was not able to warm bedrooms zone. Booked for Sat and Sun nights, owner came down on the Sat afternoon and advised that the pool heating had been turned on and would be at a comfortable temperature by the next day, why not turn it on a day earlier so we could enjoy both days? Outdoor BBQ was absolutely disgusting and caked with fat and meat pieces, actually a fire hazard, owner quickly brought down a new BBQ which he had stored away in the lockup garage and we had to assemble ourselves only to find out that the gas bottle needed replacing, so we we went off to find a replacement then charged the owner. Outdoor furniture with cloth cushions was full of rotting leaves and they were wet, we did find some dry ones in an outdoor cupboard. Slippers advertised on site were used, l would expect new ones even throw away's from the 2 dollar shop would suffice. All in all had a great time because l was with my close friends but "The Dan" needs to get their act together and understand what it takes to claim 5 stars Toori
