Southern Grampians Shire Council

A decent enough shire council, but how is it possible the SGSC would put funding for the redevelopment of Melville Oval ahead of the Hamilton Base Hospital. It doesn't make sense. Surely the district's health is more important than what club rooms, the oval etc for sporting events is like. The hospital is desperate need for state and local funding to upgrade it's outdated and prehistoric facilities.

I went to the councils Australia Day Celebrations last week. Although I got there late and missed any of the formalities, it was a nice atmosphere, watching families and local people just coming together for a short time, just having a nice gift of food together in the sports centre hall. A young lady was playing the guitar and singing to the crowd there. People and children just being there and relaxing for a short time. We were all grateful to live in this great country together. I was not confronted by any political messages to confuse our Australia Day. Well done and thanks to the Hamilton council. John Burnell.
