Kalparrin Gardens Playground

No water fountain at the playground, but if you climb the hill to the BBQ area near the train line there is water up there. Public toilets nearby. Great community feel and frequently very busy. Great bike path around the lake goes right past the playground. Ducks come up beside the playground at the little foot bridge. We've spotted some turtles in the lake, and there always seems to be two Tawny Frogmouth in the tree (or three) beside the playground, along with frogs and a lot of birdlife. There's a cute new mural along the rubbish catcher in the creek. Unfortunately the playground equipment is old and broken. The kids still have fun on it, but falls from the bridge are common because the rails are inadequate (if they fall to the bridge deck they just roll right under the rail). Most of the broken pieces have been removed since writing this review the first time, but not replaced with anything.
