Fun hike. Lots of rock scrambling. We did it in the wet and I would say that made it somewhat dangerous. The rocks got very slippery. We found it hard to follow the trail once you got into the rocky section. There's small piles of rocks that help guide you, but we lost them for some time. It's obvious which direction you need to go, so we still made it fine, but that could be why the hike seemed extra sketchy for us. Sadly no views for us at the top with all the fog, but I'm sure they're excellent on a clear day. The lower section was quite overgrown. It was only raining very lightly, but we got quite wet from having to push through all the bush. The sign says 1km each way, but my watch registered 2.9km return.

Great place, and you're likely to have it all to yourself! One of the two main peaks on the Western Grampians along with the Chimney Pots. We climbed it, together with Mt Abrupt and the Chimney Pots. Amazing, the rock formations make you feel you've been transported back into a prehistoric time. Wildlife is about, including Emus, skinks, shinglebacks and snakes, as well as the odd eagle circling above. It all adds to the sense of adventure. The climb is medium difficulty, and the track tends to disappear from time to time, so you'd have to use your intuition to figure out which way you should be going. If you get lost, just retrace your steps till you find the track again. Take your water with you, as the heat can take its toll. Nearest toilets are at Strachan's campground.
