The Greek @ Customs House

Extremely over priced for the quality and portions served. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. Service was very slow and felt like we were forgotten about and when I had to get up to pay the gentleman behind the counter he asked me if I had enjoyed my meal which I replied NO. He just shrugged his shoulders and showed me his back. Wont be going back there . Should of gone to Hungry Jacks.

I would never usually post a review , but since the manager didnt bother to come out to us when we asked for him . I thought I would share my experience We arrived just after lunch . We stood by the counter for quite some time before anybody noticed us. After being finally seated , we were notified that there were certain items on the menu that werent available due to supply issues as a result of Covid . The barramundi wasnt available which was fine, but then the list carried on and even included the mousakka which I thought was odd such simple ingredients . Then she hands us the express menu We ordered the Saganaki . It came out absolutely swimming in oil . I would have been so embarrassed to serve that out as a chef. We politely asked the waiter to take it back and make us a new one . The waiter returns moments later telling us that the chef is too busy and wont. make another one!!! We found that so strange, if you cannot make it then dont bother serving it ! Red flag Calamari: Was ordered as a main from the express menu , and thats exactly how it was made! It came out entree sized. A few piece of squid sat on dry bed of salad. No dressing , tomatoes so old and bruised , Lamb chops : Were cooked fine above all things . But as you can see in the photos, very simple dish for a main if you would consider that as a main . And the cucumber salad was exaggerated. The food quality and service needs some addressing.

Very poor customer service. We booked online and it allowed us to choose the al a carte menu. We did not want the set menu. When we arrived the wait staff were nice and immediately served us the set menu. We explained that we booked the normal menu. They said it had happened a few times that night already. The manager then said it was our fault. So we left. The drinks list had about 10 items on it. The first drink we ordered they didnt have! Very poorly run. We spoke to other customers. The set menu they received wasnt good. There are MANY more restaurants that are better in Geelong. Dont go here.

Ordered the Barramundi with Greek salad. Fish was ok and I was expecting a Greek salad being a Greek restaurant, instead I got 5 olives, 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half, a few bits of cucumber and onion with crumbs of feta cheese (and I mean crumbs). Sit there for a bit shocked and waiter does the 'everything ok here', ' the salad is a bit poor' I said. Nods head and walks off. Even a fine dining restaurant would give you more.

Wish I could give ZERO stars! Not greek food! Ordered dips and pita. Dip was store bought and pita was not grilled a doughy. They had no idea what Taramasalata is!!! (it's caviar dip which is a staple in greek cuisine) Octopus was cold, overcooked and slimy Lamb was oily with no seasoning and looked like it was bought from Coles. "Cucumber Salad" was chunky pieces with nothing else! "Greek Chips" were just chips When we let the waitress and front of house manager know of how poor everything was they just said ok and walked off. $95 for the worst "Greek" food I've ever had. Better off getting a souvlaki from a van! Anything is better than this horrible place.
