Barwon Anaesthetic Service

Dr did a good job. But then sorting out the invoice and dealing with staff is a nightmare. Not helpful at all I am paying for their service but the arrogant staff in the accounts behaving like they can do and say whatever . Not recommend

Had Kidney stone removed surgically last year. Surgeon seemed capable but anaesthetic was applied by Dr. Kelly Spencer of Barwon Anaesthetic Service. The Aneasthetist was heavily pregnant at the time of procedure and stated to me in front of Surgeon and other Theatre staff that there would be no Gap payment required. Two weeks post procedure I was mailed a bill for more than $400. When Barwon Anaesthetic Service was contacted - their story was that Dr. Spencer thought I was somebody else (great homework done lady) and the copayment was due. I replied that if she thought I was somebody else, then that somebody should pay her fee, and my account was returned to her, unpaid. I then received a telephone call from Dr. Spencer who said she would alter my records to define me as a non payer. Had then to threaten her with being sent a complaint to AHPRA. The Barwon Anaesthetic Service should be avoided whenever possible, no pre op exam, no pre op questioning, no post op follow up - Barwon Anaesthetic Service seems apalling do not use them; you as a patient are entitled to nominate the Anaesthetic service you want to use ! Exercise your rights and choose another practice

Dr Damien Elsworth was amazing. I was feeling nervous and he completely put me at ease, made me laugh and was very friendly (and to sleep). Thanks again :)

Doctor Damien Elsworth and his team were brilliant. I've had several surgeries, and he was - by far - the best anaesthetist I've ever had.
