Fairhaven Campsite

Very close to the beach however you have to camp anywhere there is not a set location. The toilet is what you would expect on an island and barbeque worked well.

A great, family-friendly camp-site right on the beach front with a number of picnic tables and a shelter for food preparation. There is a long drop toilet block and a rain water tank but be sure to either boil or add purification tablets as the water is untreated. In the cooler months, the wind coming off the sea can be quite cold so do come prepared. The camp-site is easily accessible from the Tankerton jetty and ferry. Most should find the 6km walk not too challenging via the trail or road that runs parallel to it. That said, if you do take the trail you might find the signage hard to spot and it tends to spit you out onto the beach without clear directions. But if you keep the ocean to your left going up, and on your right returning, you can't get into too much trouble.

Nice campsite. Right by the beach. Nice flat ground to pitch tents. It has a lovely covered communal dining area. BBQ stands worked very well. Two drop toilets available. We found water in the tank The beach is a perfect setting for a beauyiful lovely sunset, do not miss it! So stunning.
