Avis Car & Truck Rental Essendon Fields

Long distance from the exit of terminal we had to walk with load of luggage(actual diatance is not so long..). There was no sign of Rent a Car right outside the gate. I asked for direction at information desk at the terminal but nobody knew Avis there to everyone's strange. Unfortinately my family had to walk for 15 min or so to find Avis desk outside terminal, which is across from the terminal over the road outside. It would be helpful to put up prominemt sign of Rent a Car right outside the exit of gate. In the meanwhile, the staffer at the AVIS counter were so nice and helpful. I had bad coughing after my allergy provoked after long walking from the terminal, they offered warm amd kind words and the bottle of water from own stock. Nothing like such kindness the first moment on arrival at foreign country. I would like to express my best appreciation for staffers at Avis counter on duty at 19th March 2022 night there. Be proud of yourself that you did such an extra and excellent service for your customer! Thank you very much.

I rented a car from here and when I arrived there was no one manning the desk. I called the number and after 20 minutes on hold I was disconnected. Having almost given up I was contacted by a rude lady from another Avis to say I was in the wrong place. Apparently you can only book this Avis if you come in on a flight to essendon. This is not clear on any part of the booking or confirmation. The Yaris I got had a black interior. It was filthy. The usb socket wasnt powered and I had to buy a cigarette power charger to charge my gps. A very underwhelming experience.

Its disappointing when its not clear that no one will be at the desk, then expected to ring Avis just to get a representative to come in to get a rental car, all because youre not on a flight.
