Been coming here every four to five months for almost 2 years with my child. Was not told that when you get a new referral that I would then be charged an "initial consult" fee again, instead of the standard amount we have been paying. Totally understand needing a new referral annually, which I already had to pay a GP fee for, but as a patient that comes back every few months, paying an initial consult fee rather than the simple follow up fee as per usual, should be stated. To say I got "bill shock" is an understatement.

Flawless interaction from first contacct at reception with admin staff, through to technicians, anaesthetists, nursing staff, student nurses at RMIT on placement, and the wonderful surgeon, Dr Elaine Chong. I can honestly say that my experience at consultations at both Doncaster and Hawthorn, and the Doncaster Day Surgery Centre, are the best clinical experience I have ever had in my 73 years. I have no hesitation in recommending the Ccntres to anyone needing medical or surgical treatment.

Yet another terrible experience with an eye specialist. Dr Maged Attalla was dismissive, uninterested, and rushed. He had no interest in telling me what he was doing when he went to poke me in the eye with something. I was highly light sensitive and he didnt seem to know or care. I am not cattle to be prodded with no explanation, which is why I kept flinching when you poke things in my eyes. Why so dismissive when Im trying to tell you my medical history - tell me what you want to know if what Im saying is of no interest to you! After completing the tests, he curtly mumbled his vague diagnosis and prescribed drugs. I had to ask all the questions he should have offered the information for. It was like drawing blood from a stone. Then he promptly got me out of his office. Im fed up with these same experiences, all with different diagnoses that I honestly do not trust. The shining light in this experience was the nurse who conducted the initial tests - she was wonderful. She was caring, attentive, personable and offered all the information I needed. Im sorry that I forgot her name whilst feeling anxious about the appointment and in discomfort with my eyes. The stars are for her. I wont be returning to Dr Attalla, who gets zero stars.
