We used Peter Limburg from Finalinspect to inspect our second new home at all stages of construction over the last year. Peter very accurately listed multiple defects in relation to our new home at all stages of construction and prepared detailed reports that precisely outlined where any building defects were located and explained why they were defects, and then outlined exactly what our builder needed to do to rectify any defects. Our builder complied with all of the Finalinspect reports and the whole build for our new home moved forward without any complications or frustrations. Engaging Peter Limburg as our independent building inspector during all stages of construction was one of the best decisions we have ever made. We have no hesitation in recommending Finalinspect and Peter Limburg's services.

I am extremely disappointed with the services provided by Peter at Final Inspect. His services were exceedingly expensive (especially in comparison to competitors) yet I justified the costs as I valued the service I believed he would provide based on the glowing recommendations from family and friends, who had comissioned Peter for their builds. A costly mistake on my behalf. Peter was hired to inspect my slab, frame, lock up and fixing stages (including waterproofing) resulting in a total of $5,500 for the 4 inspections. Peter missed major defects within the frame of the bulkhead and LVL beam in the garage, which has resulted in months of delays in order to rectify these issues. This would have been avoided had he referenced to the final drawings and plans of the build, instead it was overlooked without care. The bulkhead defect discovered by myself after noticing the cornice and ceiling plaster was sagging, this was NOT noted in his initial report, rather added in to the next after our discussion. He failed to mention that the dimensions were not as stated in the plans, which again resulted in me following up action from the builder, a problem I am still waiting for them to fix as it's not a quick fix. A major issue was found with the frame from the garage when the incorrect LVL beam was used, resulting in the frame being out by 18mm. This was discovered by the tradies when installing the garage door, as they could not put the garage door flush on the brick. Something that Peter had inspected in the time he was out on site. I have now had to change the facade of my house to cater for his oversight. If he missed these 2 major items, I can only imagine what minor defects were also ignored. This is not the service you should be recieving from an 'experienced' building inspector. Instead of feeling confident in the construction of my house, I am now left doubting what problems I may have later on. The lack of attention to detail and poor quality of service has caused me a great deal of stress, inconvenience, and financial burden. It's unacceptable. I strongly advise anyone seeking a private inspector to look elsewhere and avoid the poor services of Peter and Final Inspect. It is unfortunate that I had to go through such an ordeal, but I hope that this review serves as a warning to others to be cautious when choosing an inspector for their construction needs.

Highly recommend Peter Limburg from Final Inspect he is very experienced with new home builds and was very detailed with his inspection identifying several defects we did not turn our minds to. His report was comprehensive, extremely thorough and clear and explained what the builder needed to do to fix the defects, and was well referenced with the building legislation. Peter is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Excellent value for money. Invariably with all new builds there will be several defects in which only a qualified building inspector will be able to identify it is definitely worth it to invest in a building inspection with Final Inspect. The report assisted us with providing supporting evidence to approach the builder to make changes to the home.
