We undertook a renovation of a 1970s unit with the aim of making the home sustainable and suitable for all age groups. From initial assessment onwards, Nathan was organised, easy to communicate with and creative. He was accessible and generous with information and knowledge regarding sustainable design and products. Adapt Architectures initial pre assessment was valuable in assisting us to work out our needs and also effective in saving planning time. We are almost at completion phase of our house extension. We have essentially doubled the size of our house. We wanted to keep period features throughout old part of home and add a modern extension that still made sense. Nathan from Adapt was very thorough asking us what our requirements are, our non-negotiables and what our 'like to have' inclusions. He was very considered in offering his perspective and options against our limitations which included budget. His expertise was most helpful in our desire to reduce our overall energy output in a cost effective way adding features without adding cost in many cases. He had a quiet professional manner and from design through to planning and permits he was proactive and thorough and at times helped us keep to our timeline following us up when he hadn't come back to him. Plans went through council without a hitch and no additional costs. Highly recommend.
