Cant give 0 stars. Everything about Cobram is beautiful, except for the useless council. We took our dogs down to the river for a nice quiet picnic, unaware, this was not allowed, we were greeted by a "council dog catcher" who was HEAVILY abusive and disrespectful. We tried to be nice, and leave, however were met with a barrage of abuse and threats. The council really need to moderate who they employ, as it will otherwise turn people away. On a side note, we crossed the bridge into NSW and had a lively picnic with our 2 rescue greyhounds.

So after camping down the river near cobram and spending a fair bit of money in the local town over the two weeks we were there, i was shocked to find the fella at the tip demanding $5 to dump one bag of rubbish, many others have just left their rubbish laying around the local camp grounds you try to do the right thing. Thankfully a local servo had no issue with us putting our one bag of rubbish in their skip as frankly i was prepared to leave it on the council chambers doorstep. Sure i can understand if you have a trailer load or something though a camper who even mentioned that he was a camper having to pay that price for one bag is abit much even my partner mention a gold coin donation would have been acceptable though i can now see why people are just leaving their rubbish around campsites.
