Dr John Regan

I was booked in to be induced by John Regan. He induced me and was called by the nurses when I started pushing 8 hours after induction (this was within the estimated time i was told was pushing usually starts) There was no progression with pushing and with a distressed baby (heart rate) the nurses tried calling several times again. My husband could tell that the nurses were stressed by his inability to be there and the situation at hand. After 1:40 or pushing luckily I birthed a healthy baby without him. He arrived 20 mins after this with no explanation or apology. There was no back up plan for another obstetrician to attend in his absence. My husband called him 12 days afterward to ask where he was that day and he said that he didnt remember and wouldnt be able to find out. I am a health professional myself and everything is documented. Also, if you let someone down you always remember. I wouldnt have minded if he has said sorry, I was playing the back 9 at a golf course and it took ages to get back.. or whatever the reason. What I am most disappointed at is the lack of communication and perhaps lack of truth in explaining why he did not attend.

Having your 1st child is an amazingly exciting and scary experience. Dr John Regan did a sensational job of educating us on what to expect, while keeping the conversation simple for us to understand. He has an exceptional bedside manner that helps to keep all conversations calm, relaxing and jovial. And on the day when we were rushed to the delivery room as a code blue, Dr John Regan was professional, calm and efficient, resulting in the delivery of a healthy baby and mum. The peace of mind of having a consistent experience and person along this wonderful journey is worth every out of pocket expense. We highly recommend Dr John Regan and his amazing team as your choice for an obstetrician.
