Ive never been spoken too by a sales assistant as I have in this store. The woman with dark short hair and glasses spoke to my partner extremely passive aggressively when being asked to help us find an item. She was practically scoffing at us for not already knowing the pan lid measurements that would match the pan we also wanted to buy, then said well I dont know, what does it say on the box Safe to say we wont be coming back again, such a shame because their product line was so extensive - just have no ability to hire relatively helpful/ kind employees.

Nice variety of stuff. Middle aged lady worker with black hair, spectacles and aussie accent not helpful, impolite, and not knowledgeable. Better to go to matchbox at Knox, Chaddy or the glen.

Growing up in an Italian family, mum always had her good old Bialetti Moka Express stovetop pot on the brew. There was no pod coffee machine or instant coffee in our house!! So having grown up and now in our own 'coffee drinking home' we thought it was time to give instant coffee the flick and graduate up to stovetop brews like mum and dad used to have in the old days when I was a kid. So we went out hunting for a Bialetti Moka Pot and started at TK Maxx in Moorabbin. No luck there so we decided to head over to DFO where we found a number of kitchenware type stores. First we came across Matchbox. They do have stovetop pots but they only carry the Avanti range and unfortunately we were after a Bialetti. However, Matchbox certainly has a lot of value buys. While there, we spent quite a bit of time browsing through the store and contrary to what others before us have mentioned, we had a good customer experience. A friendly and most helpful staff. After Matchbox we tried, Corelle Brands.

Don't talk about customer service in the store. SIMPLY NON- EXISTENCE! The gatekeeping lady, Wendy was not even doing her only job properly! The double standard and excuses she had given had triggered me to write this review and the store manager was not even bothered by it. Wendy allowed a family of 5 (no babies at all), with only 1 person out of 5 queued in line to slip in the queue (the other members of the family were shopping around other stores) just when it came to their turn to enter the shop. We didn't mind until she had another way of treating things towards us which perhaps had a similar scenario? I came back into the queue to meet my partner after heading to the washroom (I was originally queuing with my partner), she asked us to re-queue rudely or else she had to "kick us out"- so many professional vocabs to use, can't believe she had chosen the discourteous ones to speak to a customer. Note: there were only 1 pair of couple queued behind us. It's okay if there's some sort of consistency on how she handles things but no double standard please! When questioned, the gatekeeping lady claims that she had "accidentally" letting the family of 5 to slip in the shop. And the truth was that, it was actually herself inviting them inside LOL. Pardon that, the entrance and exit itself is not even big at all (1m each side with a stand in the middle where she stood), there's no way people can slip into the shop without her awareness. Let alone to the above, the shop is not even inherited to covid guidelines. The sign has 20 max ppl should be in the shop whilst there were double amount of the ppl there, not counting the staffs there. Looking at the old reviews left by other customers here, it doesn't seem the customer service at this store has any improvements since or matchbox management has put any concerns on this matter...
