I stayed at the Corkman for nearly 3 months between February and May. The Hostel is small and cozy with its small quirks. Having stayed there that long it's obvious that I felt at home there. Since it's so small it's a lot more like a shared house than a hostel. Even though there was some partying it is not a party central like some hostels are. The only complaint I have is that during my 3 month stay I left for a two-week holiday to Thailand. They have a storage room which I asked if I could use to leave most of my stuff while I was away (it was me and my friend leaving). They asked 5$ each per night/per person, which although not exactly a rip-off felt somewhat unreasonable considering how long we had stayed/were going to stay there, I mean, the room was empty anyway. So instead we left our stuff at my friends work for free. Perhaps a little more personal touch and small gestures like that would make the hostel more popular? A large portion of the residents are longer term. A better internet connection would also be a big plus!
